What versions of Windows are compatible with TeleScript Software?
TeleScript software is compiled and linked with the most up-to-date Windows libraries. All current updates can be used with Windows 7 and up, both 32bit and 64bit versions. The table below summarizes this information. (Recommendations in bold type.)
Windows Version | TeleScript Pro | TeleScript AV | TeleScript TECH |
---|---|---|---|
Windows XP | Not supported | Not supported | Not supported |
Vista | Not supported | Not supported | Not supported |
Win 7 | Pro 32/64 | Pro 32/64 | Pro 32/64 |
Win 8/8.1/10 | Home/ Pro 32/64 | Home/ Pro 32/64 | Home/ Pro 32/64 |
Win 11 | Home/ Pro 64 | Home/ Pro 64 | Home/ Pro 64 |
Note: While Telescript software will run on Windows 11 PRO machines, there may be a number of settings that will need to be turned off or tweaked in order to get a smooth scroll, depending on how your Windows 11 Pro installation came configured. BitLocker has proven to cause issues with scrolling and will need to be turned off on these installations. Windows 11 HOME is our recommended version for the most "out of the box" setup.
See this Knowledgebase article for a list of potential issues for Windows 8.
TeleScript TECH
works well with Windows 10/11 on virtually all computers. The Direct3D scrolling engine works well with 32bit color modes. Also the touch enabled construction lends itself to Windows tablet architecture.
Some possible considerations are:
- Windows 8/8.1/10/11 does not allow 16bit color depth. For smoothest scrolling, you'll need a more powerful display card. See notes here.
- Be sure to install the latest version of TeleScript software from www.telescriptservice.com
- Update Security Key drivers. Access the driver installation from Windows/Start/All Programs/Telescript/TeleScriptAV/Sentinel Protection Installer (7.6.4)
- If you're using the USB-Serial adapter, download and install the best driver from this link: USB2SER Driver
- Windows 8/8.1/10/11 will not allow installation of "Unsigned" drivers. The driver used by the USB-10 Button Controller is SIGNED. The .INF file which associates this driver with the hardware is also signed and you should not encounter any difficulty with installation.
